Heartstopper Season 2 Review

Alright, I just finished the second season of Heartstopper on Netflix. This season has some harsher topics to deal with, which I enjoyed. This season tackles Charlie dealing with an eating disorder and Nick trying to help as best as he can. I hope to see Charlie improve next season, or try to get some professional help, as his symptoms are still progressing towards the end of the season. Charlie's grades are slipping and we don't get to see him play drums at all this season.

I love Tao and Elle's outcome. I'm so happy for Elle. I'm glad that she found other trans characters to befriend at her new school. I enjoyed learning that her parents accept her and that she has a love for art. I'm so happy that she was around for season 2.

I enjoyed how Isaac is exploring being asexual. Asexuality needs to be talked about, and I've never seen a show even mention it before. I would also love to explore more of Isaac's character.

Darcy's mom is a bitch, but I think it was a good idea to have this version of a parent on the show. Not every parent is accepting of their child, which may even result in the child being kicked out of their home. It's not fair, and Darcy should have asked for her friend's help, especially from Tara.

I also loved how we got to see the teachers start a little romance. The vending machine scene was adorable and I totally ship them together.

It seems as though children must defend themselves against adults, which is how I feel nowadays. Most of the kids support Nick coming out, even HARRY apologizes and stands up for the couple at one point. I'm so ready for the older generations to die out, oops.

I know this is a graphic novel series, and I really need to read them, since I love the show so much. Is Imogen gayyyyyy? Is Isaac asexual? I need answers, and can't wait to see another season of this beautiful show! Also, fuck Ben.
